Current Events:
AEROLOGIC
The newly planned airline in Europe is called “Aerologic”. This new airline will consist of eleven new Boeing 777s. Ownership will be 50/50 between Lufthansa Cargo and DPWN. The GCPA would prefer that Aerologic reconsider its pilot hiring policy to include pilots of other DHL owned or operating airlines.
The custom-built AeroLogic network:
AeroLogic GmbH’s route network will be custom-built based on the needs of Lufthansa Cargo and DHL Express, our two key accounts. That is because marketing the capacities for all the flights will not be the responsibility of AeroLogic GmbH itself, but rather DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo: DHL Express is to market the weekday flights, Lufthansa Cargo those on the weekend. Each partner will also be able to add extra freight on all flights.
It all starts with the 2009 summer flight schedule as the first AeroLogic cargo planes take off from Leipzig/Halle. We thereafter intend to expand our route network gradually. On weekdays, our cargo planes are expected to predominantly serve Asian destinations such as Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai, Bombay, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Seoul, Nagoya, Almaty, but will also fly to the East Midlands and Milan. On the weekends, standard freight will be flown to and from Shanghai, Astana, Singapore, Bangkok, Sharjah, Hong Kong, Chicago and New York.
